Questions people actually ask

Is this the official City of Chicago schedule?

It's the City's official 2026 schedule and section map from the Chicago Data Portal (updated Jun 8, 2026), delivered by Par72 Labs, LLC. We're not the City. Temporary signs on your block always win.

What time is street sweeping in Chicago?

Sweepers run on weekdays, generally 9am to 2pm, from April through November. Move your car before 9am on your block's sweep day.

Which side of the street is swept first?

Usually the south side of east-west streets and the west side of north-south streets on the first day, then the opposite side on the next sweep day. Posted signs always win.

What's the ticket if I forget?

A street cleaning ticket is $60 (camera-issued ones in the Smart Streets zone are $50), and you can be towed. A free text is cheaper.

How do I get a reminder?

Enter your address at Don't Get Swept and pick text, email, or both. We remind you the evening before and the morning of each sweep day. Free. Reply STOP any time.

Do I need an account or an app?

Nope. Address plus a phone number or email. That's it. Reply STOP to texts or click unsubscribe in any email to leave.

How many texts will I get?

About four per sweep pass: the evening before and the morning of each of the two sweep days. Most blocks get swept once a month, April to November.
